Abstract

Allama Iqbal’s poetry has all the characteristics of a grand poetry. It has grand theme and sublime selection of words. Along with grandeur of thought, it full of artistic beauty. Iqbal has never imitated from the classics but has his own phraseology. His poetry enchants the reader and it evokes his sense of thinking. Iqbal provided a strong footed foundation for the poets to come. His symbols and terms are unique and make his poetry matchless. His imagery is very close to reality. The music in his poems enhances the beauty of words .His words seem to be speaking to the reader .References and allusions in his poetry depict his vast range of knowledge of different subjects.
