Abstract

Anjuman e Punjab played a dynamic role in the construction of Jadeed Urdu Nazm. Urdu Nazm in the first decades of 20th century too such a fantastic shape which defined its space to grow the way it is now showing elegantly. Allama Iqbal’ s Nazm was the most cherished fruit of this transitional time of Urdu Nazm. This article aims at finding the relationship among Anjuman e Punjab, the poetic trends of early 20th century Urdu Nazm in the reference with Iqbal’s Urdu Nazm. It emphasizes that Iqbal has many ways to be appreciated as a great poet; A gigantic Poet, an innovative Nazm Poet and a creative brain entirely compatible to the sense and sensibility of his age.
