Abstract

Allama Iqbal is one of the greatest poets in Urdu literature with specific themes and subjects. His poetry conveys the concept of literature for life's sake. His inclination towards religion makes him different from other poets. His love for the holy Prophet (PBUH) is deep rooted and touches the boundaries of adoration. According to him, we can only live a successful life only adopting the ways of the Holy Prophet. This love is depicted in most of his poems. He prefers pure love to intellect. He is of the view that intellect is inferior to pure love because intellect has no access where love can reach. We can find God through love, not by intellect. His message for the Muslims is clear they should first recognize themselves and then seek the willingness of Allah. After that, there is a path followed by the dear Prophet which is the right path and which can lead to success. The present dismal condition of the Muslims is due to discarding Shariah which is the ultimate truth and reality of life. The Muslims can regain their lost glory and grandeur by returning to the ways of the dear Prophet (PBUH)
