Hafiz Jamal Ullah Multani was primarily a Muslim reformer who played a pivotal role in the revival of Islamic thought and the propagation of Sufism in Multan at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, with effects that reverberated throughout the subcontinent. His thoughts and theories encompassed fundamental Islamic beliefs, moral values, societal instability, social traditions, and the teachings of Sufism. Hafiz Jamal Ullah was affiliated with the Chishtiyya chain and significantly contributed to its promotion and expansion, showcasing a profound influence of the thoughts and ideas of the Chishtiyya Sufi masters. However, his ideas also exhibited elements of innovation in response to local and contemporary needs. Moreover, he demonstrated a practical perspective on social reform and state consolidation. Among his compilations, "Si Harfi" stands out as an authoritative source reflecting his nuanced thoughts and ideas.
