The term 'Isra'eeliyat' refers to the narratives transmitted from the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), which are present in Tafseer books, including Tafseer Ibn Kathir. Hafiz Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) adopted a methodology regarding these narratives, categorizing them into three types. Firstly, those that align with Islamic law, which are accepted and narrated. Secondly, those that contradict Islamic teachings, are rejected and considered reprehensible. Thirdly, those that are neutral, neither aligning with nor contradicting Islamic law, which is presented without taking a stance. Ibn Kathir's purpose in narrating these Isra'eeliyat was to reveal their reality to the public and protect people from their harmful effects. This research paper will discuss some of these Isra'eeliyat from Tafseer Ibn Kathir, explaining the approach adopted by Hafiz Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him)."
