Abstract

This research studies literary communication in novel. Its application field is the Arabic novel, especially (Nazeif Al-Hajjer) and (Mausim Al-Hijrah ila shamal). The research treats the subject according to an approach of a series of semiotic and structural concepts, which are presented from the point of view of reception theory in its phenomenological frame work. The approach acquires its importance from the variation that is prominent in the transmission of the novel text. It does not depend on the transference of literal meaning and information; it develops the concept so as to correspond with the intentions of the novel text. In general, the subject of literary communication did not take its share of scientific study in the applicatory and theortical levels. The subject remained marginalised and unknown due to its philosophical, intellectual and literary complexities. The research has a preface, an introduction, two chapters, conclusion, bibliography and an abstract in English. In the introduction communication was discussed throughout three axes, the first axis was discussed in the philosophical framework, the second in the linguistic framework and the third in the literary one. The first chapter, “structures of literary communication in Novel and the Implied Reader”, it included a prelude and three sections. In the first section we studied the narrative structure, and in the second we studied the stylistic context and in the third the textual construction. The second chapter, “Codes of literary communication in Novel and Text Gaps”, it included aprelude, and three sections. In the first section we studied fictionality, in the second one we studied the suggestive meaning and in the third the symbolic dualism (binary opposition). As for results, the research represents a real scientific study of this subject within the framework of the approach. We concluded to setting a special visualization of the model of literary communication in novel departing from the phenomenological theory, and we think that this kind of presentations may be considered new in its literary field.
