An Analytical Study of Religion in the Historical Novel “Dasht-E-Soos”

Jameela Hashmi is one of the greatest personalities of Urdu literature who has also described and explained the theories of Wahdat-ul-Wujood and Wahdat-ul-Shahood written by Mansoor Hilaj in her novel "Dasht-E-Soos." Jameela Hashmi describes the importance and values of Sufism and religion in this novel, elucidating the relationship between Allah Almighty and the only way of blessings and prayers. In "Dasht-E-Soos," Jameela Hashmi depicts a beautiful and peaceful life of Sufism, exploring various aspects such as tolerance, peace, observation, morality, Wahdat-ul-Wujood, and Wahdat-ul-Shahood. She elaborates on many features of tasawuf in her work. Mansoor Hilaj presents both positive and negative aspects of Sufism, while Jameela Hashmi eloquently describes tolerance, harmony, and morality throughout the novel.
