Abstract

The Holy Quran repeatedly calls upon humans towards guidance and servitude, aiming for them to reach elevated stages. We should ponder upon the words of the Quran and gain awareness of their respective objectives. One of these words is 'qasm' (oath) that appears at various instances. We need to understand why Allah has sworn oaths in the Quran and what significance these oaths hold. Keeping this purpose in mind, the present article has been organized to enable us to comprehend the importance and objectives behind these oaths. This article presents a case that includes several preliminary discussions and presents various headings under this case. An introduction that includes some essential research on the topic and gathers useful information related to the subject. Subsequently, the article sheds light on the importance of the subject. Then, the following topics are discussed: reasons for choosing the topic, awareness from Quranic verses, types of oaths in the Quran, words for oaths in the Quran, usage of similar words to oaths in the Quran, verses containing oaths, philosophy, characteristics, and purposes of oaths in the Quran.
