Abstract

Life of Holy Prophet (ﷺ) has always been a matter of concern for the entire Muslim Ummah. The personality of Prophet (ﷺ) is regarded as Innocent and Free from sins by all Muslims. The one to doubt it will be considered out of the fold of Islam. If we ponder over the lives of the companions, they sacrificed everything for Holy Prophet (ﷺ). They didn’t even hesitate to sacrifice their parents, relatives and even children for him. He who had as much as mustard seed of faith in his heart tried his best to close every eye that was raised against the Prophet's(ﷺ). Various juristic schools of thoughts have expressed their views on this issue including jurists of Fiqh e Jafariyah. In the following article, in the context of Jafari school of thought, the penalty for blasphemy of the Prophet is being taken in consideration to protect the authority of the Prophet (ﷺ).
