Localism in Javed Akhter Bhatti's Fiction

Javed Akhter Bhatti is one of the prominent writers of Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. His fiction is based on realism and interprets the life of the lower class in a simple way. So far, four of his fiction collections have been published namely "Chand Kay Zakham/Wounds of Moon ,Magar Tum Zinda Rehna/But You Stay Alive, Rabbi Zaat,Sanpon Sey Na Katnay Kay Wichan/The Promise of Not being bitten by snakes ".In the afore-mentioned fiction collections, local issues such as the difference in local routine and standard of living, the attitude of the oppressed towards the oppressor, political influence on local life, bribery, drugs, superstition and the spread of evils like mobile phobia in modern times have been made the subject. Apart from fiction writing, Javed Akhter Bhatti's creative journey has different dimensions. He is also a columnist, critic, researcher and scholar. Apart from this, he has also written books in journalism, history, personality writing, politics and memoir. He studied up to intermediate, but through his research, critical and creative skills, he has proved that art does not depend on academic degrees. His creative consciousness grew in the face of everyday political, social, psychological, religious, moral events, economic problems and other twists and cons of life. For this reason, the localism is prominent in his writings, especially fiction. The following article attempts to bring out the depiction of local society and culture in Javed Akhter Bhatti's fiction.
