Prophet Ibrahim, divinely revealed religions, Muslims, Jews, Christians, QuranAbstract
Today, all living followers of the divinely revealed religions in the world, including Muslims, Jews, and Christians, share a common attachment to Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) (peace be upon him). Although the Quran does not mention the punishment that befell his people after his departure, they are still counted among the nations that were punished. The rulers, priests, and idolaters of Babylon who sought to undermine the message of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and the polytheistic inhabitants who blindly followed these oppressors have been eradicated from the world to such an extent that no trace of them remains today. However, the man whom these people tried to burn to ashes for the "crime" of upholding the word of Allah, and who eventually had to leave his homeland in a state of destitution, was granted such honor by Allah that his name has been revered for four thousand years and will continue to be so until the Day of Judgment. All Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the world unanimously acknowledge this Friend of the Lord of the Worlds as their leader. Whatever light of guidance has reached the world in these forty centuries has been due to this one man and his pure progeny. While he will undoubtedly receive great rewards in the Hereafter, even in this world, he achieved such respect and honor that none of those who exhaust themselves in the pursuit of worldly gains have ever attained.
