Abstract

A person never abandons something beneficial. It is surprising that the blessed work of preaching, which once filled the empty homes of Muslims with gold and silver, was later abandoned by some Muslim rulers of the Umayyad dynasty. Why did this happen? Before blaming others, one should introspect. There might have been some compelling reasons. The question is, what were those reasons? Who was forced to lay down their weapons? Who did not lose courage and fought on? How did they manage the challenges they faced? Who handled the situation best? The title of this article is derived from "مسلمانوں کی موجودہ پستی کا واحد علاج", a book included in the Fazail-e-Amaal. However, I respectfully disagree with the diagnosis in the mentioned book. In my opinion, the issue of the Muslim Ummah is not related to faith but to management. Management is crucial because, according to the Hadith, the best period of faith was during the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). As we move further away from that time, faith weakens. This weakening of faith cannot be stopped, but with good management, it is possible to control the trials and tribulations. This article is an effort in that direction.
