Abstract

The Western world has made it a habit to direct the blessings and reforms that have been brought into the globe onto themselves, as if the rest of the world were engulfed in a state of ignorance and darkness. Despite the fact that the Magna Carta of the United Kingdom is considered to be the origin of the concept of human rights, Islam has provided the most comprehensive and all-encompassing foundation for human rights fourteen hundred years earlier, approximately 600 years before Magna Carta. An examination of the similarities and differences between the United Nations Charter on Human Rights and the comprehensive sociopolitical and economic arena of human rights as outlined by Islam is the subject of this research paper.
