The 18th century was a time of significant flux, particularly in the Subcontinent. The colonial hold of the British was tightening, while the Industrial Revolution was beginning to exert its influence on society. Recognizing the impending changes, Shah Waliyyullah (1703-1762) articulated his renaissance theory, grounded in the Quran and Hadith, aimed at revitalizing Islamic principles within society. Although his ideas are scattered throughout his works, his primary focus remained the Holy Quran, particularly in relation to human society. Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi (1872-1944) was deeply influenced by Shah Waliyyullah's thoughts. He further illuminated the socio aspects of the Holy Quran. During his exile, he witnessed the rapid transformations of society following the world wars and colonial eras. He dedicated himself to imparting the socio-political teachings of Islam to the younger generation. His four Quranic Tafsirs in various languages illustrate how Quranic teachings reshaped seventh-century Arabic society. The impact of Quranic teachings was profound, leading to the transformation of tyrannical societies into just ones for nearly a millennium. This research article delves into the socio approach of Quranic interpreters.
