Abstract

Allah Ta'ala is the creator, owner, and legislator of the universe, having established its system alongside its creation. Prophets (peace be upon them), religious scholars, and those dedicated to the well-being of the Ummah strive for the implementation of His divine constitution. Among them, Syed Abul Alaa Maududi stands out as a founder of Jamaat-e-Islami, which adopted the Islamic constitution as its manifesto in Pakistan. A constitution serves as a written code of conduct governing the operations of a state, its rulers, citizens, and institutions. Islam provides guidance on constitutional principles, which determine whether a state is Islamic or non-Islamic. Jamaat-e-Islami played a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of the resolution in Pakistan. Under the guidance of Syed Abul Alaa Maududi (may Allah have mercy on him), the draft of the resolution's objectives was prepared and ratified by the Constituent Assembly on March 12, 1949.
