Abstract

Islam, widely acknowledged as a beacon of peace, exhibits a judicious approach in safeguarding its rich heritage by meticulously upholding beneficial traditions while decisively discarding practices that prove harmful. Under the guiding light of its core principles and exemplified by the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Islam maintains a steadfast commitment to values that resonate with its spiritual essence. This commitment, however, is not without its challenges, as superstitions often lurk beneath the guise of seemingly innocuous traditions, posing a persistent threat to the accurate portrayal of Islam. In this context, the Prophet's resolute rejection of practices falsely attributed to him, irrespective of their historical reverence, stands as a compelling testament to Islam's unwavering stance. This rejection underscores the commitment to purity and authenticity in the practice of Islamic traditions, ensuring that they align harmoniously with the core tenets of the faith. This proactive role in discerning and rejecting detrimental traditions is not merely a reactive measure but rather a deliberate effort to preserve the genuine values intrinsic to Islam. This article explores the dynamic interplay between Islam and traditions that may compromise its true essence. By shedding light on the proactive measures taken to discern and reject harmful practices, it highlights Islam's ongoing dedication to the preservation of its authentic values. This commitment, rooted in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, serves as a beacon, guiding practitioners away from distortions and reaffirming the unblemished image of Islam in its true light.
