Abstract

This study briefly sketches the contribution of women to prose writing in the pre-Islamic era. In this era, Arab women played a significant role in promoting Arabic prose and poetry. Women presented their writings in both fields, but unfortunately, not much attention has been paid to preserving the prose works of women. In this study, I presented various pieces of prose, such as commandments, messages, proverbs, preaches, and good talking and descriptions, which are clear evidence of their literary works in prose writing and give an accurate image of their lifestyle. By studying the prose writings of women, it is clear that they were free in their expression and thought. They were experts in eloquence, imagination, and sketching, creating new meaning and subtlety. Femininity, delicate feelings, subtle emotions, loyalty, chastity, and purity can be clearly seen in their thoughts and ideas. During that period, women produced significant works in the fields of poetry as well as prose. He succeeded in influencing and persuading his audience through political and social sermons, debates, and imparting wills (advices) full of high values and good morals to shape the personalities of his sons and daughters. This study has been evaluated using the method of description and analytics.
