Islamic Values of Tolerance & Peace for Developing a Peaceful Society

Abstract

This paper presents a detailed study about two important values for developing a peace building society. In this, Islamic values of peace & tolerance are discussed in comparative study of secular values. The purpose of this study is to present the superiority of divine commandments over the man-made norms and principles. The fact is that there are many secular values similar to Islamic values while some others are incompatible to Islamic values. In this article, besides peace and tolerance, some other relative values are presented to clarify and describe both isms. In these some social and economic values of secular and divine commandments are also discussed in brief manner. Furthermore, the reasons of popularity of secularism even within the Islamic states are also discussed clearly: in these foreign agenda and domestic weaknesses of Muslim countries are also involved. This paper also presents the Muslims’ attitude regarding divine commandments and in their practical lives. Due to this not only non-Muslims are not encouraging by Muslims but Muslim inhabitants of Islamic countries are trying to doing job in developed and secular countries. This thing is not only creating brain drain for developing countries but this thing also suitable for developed and secular countries as the cream of developing countries works for developed ones for enhancing their progress. In short, it is stated that Muslims should work abiding their divine commandments fully if they want to achieve real peace for progress of individuals as well as for the Muslim community also. For this, collective benefits will be preferred on individuals’, otherwise the peaceful and just may remain in theory only.
